SITREP:
The island nation of Panthera is in a Civil War. The military has overthrown the current government and plunged the small nation into a long and bloody civil war. The nation’s president has recently been captured by the ruling military leadership and demands the West provide concessions for his release. The demands are deemed unachievable, so with the cooperation of the resistance group and formed presidential aides, TFA has been tasked with the rescue of the president.
INTEL:
The president is currently being held at a villa on the northwest island. He is under heavy guard and rescue will be very risky. No current threat to the president’s life has been made but concerns are high for his safety.
The civil war is ragging with combat lines changing day to day, but mostly in the middle of the island. Opfor has been observed in the southern half of the island but mostly controls the northern half on the island nation while resistance controls the southern half.
MISSON:
TFA has arrived at a former smuggler’s airfield on the southern part of the island. TFA will proceed from the airfield to the airstrip on the west side of the island. There TFA will take helos to the northwest island, rescue the president and fly him south to the southwest island and hand him over to his people. From there TFA will fly back to the smuggler’s airfield and exfil.
TOPOGRAPHY: Lots of hills and mountains.
WEATHER: Mostly sunny (yes, it’s a day op) with scattered clouds.
ENEMY FORCES EQUIPMENT: Made up of government forces with modern weapons. Highly trained and motivated to the current military rulers.
QRF: Not expected due to current front lines being north of TFA’s area of operation. Contact is expected to be guerrilla operations behind enemy lines. So mostly expect sporadic contacts since resistance fighters have not seen heavy contact in the southern half of the island for at least a month. But things can change!
EOD/MINES: Resistance forces have encountered mines, but not in the past 3 weeks.
FRIENDLY FORCES: No friendly armed forces in the AO. TFA is on its own!
Resistance fighters are dedicated to restoring their president back to power. They will provide help when and where they can. But if they are fired upon by TFA, they may become hostile. Know your targets!
ROE: As per OC’s directions.
CIVILIANS: All civilians are in there homes for their safety under the protection of resistance fighters. They are free to move about, but during TFA’s tenure, they are in lockdown until TFA departure. Where TFA operates, no civilians!
MINES: Again, they have been used in the past, but not all mines have been cleared. Use caution!
TRANSPORTATION: Landies with resupply are at the hospital north of the smuggler’s airfield. Helos for the second half of the Op will be at the western airfield. NOTE: Pay careful attention to briefing on how respawning will be done. It’s kindda tricky!
LOUDOUTS: Limited loadouts since TFA flew in on DC-3s. Limited space for most loadouts and space was used to bring in Goodwill aid to the islanders.
CAS: Unavailable.
COMMUNICATION: SOP will be followed.
AMMO: mixed
RATIONS: Whatever the good people of the islands provide you. So be nice or starve!
MISSION FAILURE: Death of the President or failure to deliver him to his people ( Same Arma conditions apply ).
