SITREP:
A while ago TFA performed operation A New Home, this was ultimately successful. However many mishaps happened during the operation. TFA now is running a live fire exercise where they will retrace their own steps and hopefully not make the same mistakes. The intel at the time was as follows:
After the destruction of our old training island we need to find and build ourselves a new one. We have managed to locate a suitable island in an ideal location, and have approval to use it for our new base.
Unfortunately, when we arrived we discovered a large contingent of one of our old adversaries have landed ahead of us, so we will have to take our new home by force.
OBJECTIVES:
Our main goal is to make the enemy surrender. We can try to kill them all we want, but it will be seriously problematic if even a few remain. So we want them to turn themselves in willingly.
OBJ 1: The main threat coming from the island is their ability to strike back if we attack, in the form of SCUDS. So it is of utmost importance to take away these toys away before anything else. Capture is preferable.
OBJ 2: We have an approximate location of the enemy’s HQ. Search and destroy.
OBJ 3: To make sure remaining troops will surrender sooner or later, we will also be destroying their essential supplies – mainly food and water. They can get more from us, alongside some handcuffs.
IMPORTANT: because we are trying to capture this island, we are trying to NOT DESTROY stuff wherever possible. Everything we can capture is something which we don’t have to buy later.
For this reason there are 2 side objectives:
Side OBJ 1: a ground vehicle depot – expect resistance, but also plenty of vehicles ripe for capture.
Side OBJ 2: the heliport also has a decent few helicopters, though they probably they wont send all of them at once. It is, however, on the other side of the island.
There also is a fixed wing airbase, but as long as we have no plans to start a flying club, or a museum, there is nothing interesting there.
INTEL:
Topography: varied terrain with mostly rolling hills
Civilian population: long gone, but with our capture of the island civilian infrastructure is still important. We don’t want to have to rebuild the entire island.
Mine Threat: one town is marked with UXO threat. It’s not in AO, so avoid at all costs.
Friendly forces: none

MAP

OPFOR

Infantry: what you would expect from Soviet era armed groups, lots of ’em of course
Armour: mostly older, but expect good amounts – and even if old it’s still an MBT (or IFV, or APC)
Air: again, mostly older stuff, only here both western and eastern and a decent amount of it, they have plenty of equipment
AA: the enemy does have some heavy AA batteries, but fairly centralized. These are already scouted, so just don’t get in their view. Further there is very low AA threat with there being VERY few manpads about
AT: medium, mostly coming from enemy armour, but expect a few RPG’s mixed in in the infantry as well.
TFA Equipment

We have brought all the stuff from our old training island, including a good amount of the vehicles. All of this is at your disposal (you get everything as on the old training server + resupply vics)
That also means you are getting full arsenals
CAS: available
Armor: available
Ammo: I thought you were bringing that?
Rations: steal a few at OBJ 3
Mission failure: failure on capturing SCUDS, or otherwise failing to force a surrender
