by Sgt. Ray. Mission date Tuesday 28st May 2024, 19:00 GMT
SITREP:
A British Royal Army Merlin helicopter has gone down. Their last communications was several hours ago, and the crew of 8 were on a rescue of the British Embassy when comms were lost.
The rescue team was heading back to the embassy for 4 diplomats, 2 males and 2 females, who were on a diplomatic meeting in the center of the city when hostilities broke out several hours ago. Due to the bloody fighting between the government forces and The Fist of God factions, the diplomats were told to sit tight and await an SAS team to come and extract them.
Comms from the diplomats via Sat phone stated the conflict in their area was worsening, and they felt it was better to make a run for the embassy proper where a four man British Army team was standing by. Thirty minutes passed with no further contact received from the diplomats.
The Fist of God faction within the city has suffered great losses from TFA during its relief run a few hours ago. With the shooting down of the Merlin and the stranded personnel at the Embassy, the British have asked TFA to rescue the embassy personnel and locate and rescue any survivors found.
Intelligence:
The Fist of God has sent out a communique to other anti-western factions to aid in the capture of the downed Merlin. Other factions (unknown to intelligence at this time) have agreed to put their differences aside for this one objective.
Operatives in other locations of Iraq are reportedly sending heavy armor and helicopters with troops to the region.
Mission:
TFA will depart the relief center and proceed to the Embassy to rescue the personnel. Your drone operator will be actively sweeping the last known flight path of the Merlin to locate, assess and relay information the Spartan to aid in the rescue. Retrieve any deceased personnel and bring them back to the air base.
Safety and security of the diplomats are of great importance. British military command has given the TFA commander full operational control over any rescued British military while returning to the air base.
Ground Topography: Flat urban terrain with sporadic heavy vegetation.
Weather: Still hot and sunny
