Operation Warlord

by Cpl. Sheepdog. Mission date Tuesday 25th June 2024, 19:00 GMT

SITREP:

Excellent work on Operation Mud Puppy everyone. Based on the information recovered by TFA, several allied intelligence agencies have taken an interest in the shipping company that owned the MV Advent. It has been discovered that the shipping manager, one Tom Urban, has disappeared. A search by local police found that all of the electronic devices left in his offices and home have been wiped clean of data. The geeks at Langley are trying to recover what they can, but there isn’t much hope they will succeed. It is still unknown what the classified cargo is, but if these guys want it bad enough to murder the ships crew, engage and shoot down a US Navy Seahawk, and capture, torture, and kill US personnel then no freedom loving persons want them to have it.

We do know that the faction that took the ship has their headquarters in Fallujah, where they took up residence after NATO forces pulled out and local government troops moved in. As expected, the extremists then took the city from the government, again.

The coalition still owns Outpost Winsor to the north of the city and JSB Lackland to the south of the city. This is where we will be staging from for the next leg of the search for the mystery cargo from the MV Advent. We know that the two MI-8s came here, landed for a few hours, then left. Tracking lost them when they entered a mountain range so their next destination is unknown.

Our mission is to imbed with a mechanized platoon that is performing a supply mission from the FOB to the airbase and follow them into the city. They will have to pass through the city because the perimeter MSRs have been mined by the extremists in an effort to isolate the two bases from each other in preparation for attacks on both. We will split off from convoy at a point near where we belive the HQ building is located. The convoy will move into the eastern part of the city while our AO will be in the west end. The convoy will have 2 UH-60 Blackhawks providing air support for the inevitable ambush so PID before engaging aerial targets.

The good news: There will be air support for us on this OP. JSB Lackland is home to a flight of three A-10C Worthogs (callsign Razor 1), three AH-64 Apaches (callsign Hermes), and one UH-60 Blackhawk (callsign Hermes). These aircraft have been designated to support TFA’s operations. Razor 1 will first be tasked with eliminating the six known ZSU-23s so the choppers can operate. Once Razor 1 has completed this task then he will be available for CAS tasking in support of TFA and the convoy if needed. An Ah-64 has been shuttled to the FOB from the airbase for our use.

The bad news: The convoy is carrying supplies for engineers who are located at the airbase, so that they can begin to clear the mines on the perimeter MSRs and re-establish the vital link between the FOB and airbase while bypassing the city. This cargo is vital, and TFA is the QRF for the convoy. It will be TFA’s resonsibility to rescue any downed aircrews and any soldiers from disabled convoy vics. The convoy is under strict orders to push through and not stop, even if they have to leave people behind. Our QRF assignment does not supercede our primary mission, though, so if TFA is called for assistance a unit will be pulled from a platoon (command’s choice) and sent to recover the abandoned personnel. Once completed, that unit will rejoin their platoon unless otherwise directed by command. We will leave no one behind, dead or alive.

TFA Mission:

Locate and take the HQ building, search for and recover all intel we can find. Then act on any actionable intel discovered if capable.

Act as QRF for convoy and SAR for downed aircrew. Expect heavy resistance.
