Pegasus Revisited

by SSgt. Ray. Mission date Friday 11th October 2024, 19:00 GMT

Background:

On 8 March 2022, I ran my very first mission. I was very nervous, but TFA made that experience enjoyable. However, Arma wasn’t so very nice and the server crashed about 45 minutes left to go in the mission. I have always wanted to rerun the mission, so now I am.

Welcome to Pegasus Revisited!

SITREP:

The island nation of Nogova has been invaded by the CSAT military force of the Mediterranean section. They are being lead by a nasty warlord turned general only known as Pegasus. It’s been three weeks since the invasion, and CSAT has been moving all kinds of equipment in to solidify their foothold on Nogova.

To try and find a peaceful resolution to this crisis, the UN sent a team of 4 negotiators to Nogova, but they were quickly detained and CSAT has threatened to execute the negotiators if a rescue is attempted.

The civilian population is on martial law lockdown from 1800-0600 hours daily. For this reason, TFA will conduct operations starting around midnight.

Intelligence:

The A/C used by the UN delegation was confiscated and take away from Nogova to an unknown location. The fate of the four aircrew is not entirely known, but sporadic comms coming out of Nogova suggests they may have been executed.

The Nogovan Governor General, Dr. Alfred Steele, is being held in the Governor’s Mansion in Lipany, the capital. A list of equipment CSAT has brought to the island is given below. The majority of the armor is located at the Governor’s Mansion.

During the invasion, local resistance destroyed all landline communications and crippled the power grid. This has severely slowed CSAT’s takeover of Nogova.

Lipany is heavily defended. It is the staging area for their offensive armor units, and last known location of Pegasus. The area has Igla AA teams, so helo pilots use caution!

There are known to be two snipers on the island. Last known locations are in Lipany and near the bridge. The missing aircrew did have NVGs (2), so intel suggests that the snipers may be equipped with these. The rest of the CSAT forces do not have NVGs, thus they are staying close to the towns at night.

As further intel is collected, this will be passed along through TFA’s Overlord.

Mission:

TFA will depart the northern airfield via Mi-8 helos to the respective LZs. Vehicles have been provided by the resistance at the LZs for TFA’s use.

Before assaulting the the towns where the negotiators are being held, assault the LP/OP locations to eliminate the radioman there. The long-range radios being used are susceptible to cross frequency interference, so a 200 meter cordon around the LP/OPs have been established.

Should the radioman get a message out that TFA is there, the HVA’s lives will be in jeopardy. Stealth assault with suppressors are required.

There are radioman known at the LP/OPs, QRF airfield, the bridge crossing, and the Central Comms unit just west of Lipany. The long-range radios are housed in green backpacks, so ensure they are the first to go. As of this intel, there are no radioman in the towns where the HVA’s are being held.

Alpha Platoon will have the QRF base to deal with. Destroy all equipment found and search for the missing aircrew.

Hotel platoon will have the defense battery where the self propelled gun (2S1 SPG) is located.

The bridge and final push into Lipany will be done as a company due to the nature of the armor threat.

Ground Topography: High hills and mountains and southwest is a barren and open terrain.

Weather: Night skies and partly cloudy.
