No Place Like Home, Part 2

by Cpl. Ray. Mission date Tuesday 13th May 2025, 19:00 GMT

SITREP

Altis is on it’s way to being liberated. The Greek authorities have been sending radio transmissions to the remaining civilians stuck on the island that help is on its way. The Greek military have been receiving messages from Altis that conditions are getting severe. Food rations are being confiscated and redistributed to the invaders.

Tensions are growing between the CSAT and Ardistan forces. CSAT feels Ardistan forces are not putting enough pressure on TFA due to their losing control of the Molos Airfield (AF). CSAT is demanding Ardistan forces retake the air field at all costs.

Intelligence

Enemy radio traffic suggests that the Ardistan forces are planning an assault of the Molos AF at sunrise on mission day using mortars and armor to try and overwhelm the NATO forces on the northeast end of the island. For this reason, a night operation has been ordered.

Mission

1) TFA will depart Molos AF and proceed south along the prescribed route to their first objective, the 2 comms towers.
2) Alpha and Hotel will then proceed on their assigned routes to their objectives. Destroy military assets, but preserve civilian infrastructure.
3) Alpha and Hotel will coordinate their assault on Sofia to rescue the 8 civilians know to be captive there. Rescue the civilians and place them on the bus inside the town and leave them at the service station. The Greek military will secure them after TFS resumes their mission.
4) DEMO any enemy assets found on the island.
5) Overlord will brief in length the mission parameters for the operation.

Topography: High hills in the eastern half of the island .

Weather: Expected to be mild and mostly clear.

MAPS

To be seen on mission day

Enemy Forces Equipment

CSAT information is currently unavailable. Intel has suggested the only opposition in the AO is the Ardistan Army.

They are armed with older style Soviet era weapons with no NVGs. They only have weapon-mounted lights.

Intel has learned the the Ardistan Army has anti-air (MANPADs).

There has been reported sightings of T-72As in the area.

An-2 w/rocket pods and bombs. Cessna 400 aircraft used for recon operations at the salt flats air field.

QRF: Expect a heavy response to your activities on the island, from both ground and air.

EOD/Mines: As of this intel, there have not been any known used of mines or IEDs in the AO. But that is expected to change soon.

Friendly Forces

NATO has spared some forces to provide an FOB at the Molos AF

ROE

There are civilians being held in the town of Sofia. That is the only known area at this time. Follow the direction of your platoon leaders in use of grenades.

TFA Equipment

Transportation: NATO has brought in US military vehicles for TFA to use.

Loadouts: The standard 7.62mm/5.56mm weapons. AT single shots and MAAWS.

CAS: The USAF has loaned TFA the use of an A-10 Thunderbolt to provide CAS operations for TFA’s push inland.

Comms: SOP rules will be followed

Ammo: Mixed 7.62mm/5.56mm

Rations: US provided MREs (variety box! Yum!)

MISSION FAILURE: This mission, any of the civilians in Sofia killed due to lack of weapons discipline, or failure to destroy objective targets.
